Pico Neo 3 Link: TikTok Studio introduces first VR glasses for end users

Google and Meta have already recognised the VR trend. Now TikTok also wants to get in on this increasingly large market: With the Pico Neo 3 Link, released today at the Laval Virtual Europe conference, the company Pico Interactive launches a new VR glasses. Pico was taken over by the company ByteDance, to which TikTok also belongs. Together with the Feelbelt, we tested the new VR glasses in terms of virtual reality and VR gaming.

The Pico Neo 3 Link in combination with the Feelbelt creates a next level immersive experience. The 10 pulse generators in the Feelbelt let you feel your content intensively on your body. And the Pico VR glasses immerse you extremely deeply in the experience.

At first glance, we were impressed by the extremely cool design of the Pico. During our Feelbelt test, we immediately noticed that the tightening strap is the perfect solution for an optimal fit. Here we see a clear advantage over Oculus.

We have tested various games such as Synth Riders (similar to Beat Saber). Despite full body use, we did not sweat under the Pico. The controllers allow optimal handling and the glasses have a very good image quality in comparison to the competitors.  The Pico Neo 3 Link is the optimal solution for people who want to expand their experience and keep their money.

Megatrend or niche product?

With the Feelbelt and the Pico Neo 3 Link, you can immerse yourself even more in virtual experiences and the metaverse. Feelbelt’s CEO Benjamin Heese is convinced that the metaverse is one of the most important topics in the tech sector:

The global players are actively working on making the metaverse even more tangible. In my opinion, the metaverse is currently what the internet was in the 2000s: the ‘new big thing’ and a megatrend at the same time.

As a leading technology that brings the digital world close to life, this is our playground. Together with VR glasses and the Feelbelt, virtual reality feels even more real. That’s why the Feelbelt is compatible with all products and providers.

Facebook, now Meta, bought Oculus VR for about $2.3 billion already in 2014. Oculus VR has been known as Meta Quest since 2022.

Apple is also currently working on AR/VR glasses, but no further details on the release have been given yet. Google is also betting on this technology and bought the start-up Raxium (t3n.de).

Now ByteDance has bought Pico Interactive. After Oculus, the company is one of the leading companies in the VR sector and is represented worldwide (mixed.de).

Pico has offices in the USA, Europe, China and Japan. The company develops innovative VR solutions that are designed to provide the best VR and interactive experiences. Founded in 2015, the company has over 300 team members. Until now, various models such as the Pico Neo 3 Pro or Pico G2 4K were only offered for business purposes. The Pico Neo 3 Link is the first model available for end consumers (Pico). The Pico Neo 3 Link is compatible with SteamVR.

In the future, there will probably be some exciting innovations coming our way. Especially in the gaming sector, VR gaming in combination with the Feelbelt is a real revolution. Because you don’t just see and hear what’s happening – no, you also feel it!

You can experience what it feels like to sit in a cockpit or notice every single step, for example of a sneaking enemy. This gives you an enormous advantage over other players or opponents, as the haptic feedback enables you to react more quickly by using your sense of touch.

In our test with the Pico, we played Synth Riders. Here, the impulse generators in the Feelbelt can fully unleash and show their full spectrum, as a lot happens in the game in terms of sound. In our stomach region, we feel every height and depth and enjoy the experience to the fullest.

Conclusion

The Pico Neo 3 Link in combination with the Feelbelt convinced us. The good resolution and the handling of the controllers enable a convincing VR gaming experience. Both devices fit perfectly and so we concentrate fully on the games and impressions. The synergy of visuals and haptics is a big step towards a realistic experience.
